The Nembe Creek Cawthorne channel Trunkline replacement project was the largest single project under the SPDC joint venture’s asset integrity programme that replaced more than 1000 km of deteriorated major pipelines and flowlines in USA recently.
In addition to several Shell Commendation Awards received by Universal Petro Service LTD for satisfactory and timely project execution and commissioning, Universal Petro Service LTD also received a Shell Award certificate for executing high-risk activities in the face of a challenging security situation without a single fatality.
The pipeline installation required 7 major river crossings, the longest (Sego River) being approximately 1.1km. Another 44 minor river and creek crossings of various sizes required extensive dredging activities.
